The on-line Help is far more complete than the manual. You can print it by selecting FILE - PRINT from HELP.
The quickest way to hit or stand is to scratch the table with the mouse. A half an inch will do.
HELP - NEW FEATURES displays the features added since the last release.
To deal the cards, click on the shoe, or double-click the table, or hit the return key.
Use the HELP - SEARCH FOR HELP ON... function to obtain an index of the Help file.
You don't have to move chips all the way back to the chip box. Just click on a chip stack and it will float back.
Speeds are controlled from the SPEEDS/PARMS folder on the OPTIONS - SETTINGS screen.
Have trouble finding options on the OPTIONS - SETTINGS screen? Use the LOCATOR button.
Want details on strategy errors? Set the ALLOW PLAY CORRECTION option on the DEALER ACTIONS folder. Then click on the ? after an error.
Does CV seem to calculate True Counts differently than you? Customize True Count Calculation on the EXPERT METHODS folder.
If you hit Function Key 4, your bets will automatically be set to the same values as in the last hand and the dealer will deal.
Some of the computer players play poorly, as in a real casino. However, players in tournament mode play very well and are programmable.
If you wish to change the betting limits, click on the limit sign. If you don't like the choices, change them on the LIMITS/BONUSES folder.
You can bet insurance by dragging chips to the insurance line, clicking on the 'Insurance?' sign, or hitting the 'Y' key.
If you have a high-resolution monitor, you can play with a high-resolution shoe and cards. Select OPTIONS - TABLE FORMAT and click on the table in the lower left corner.
If you have Windows 95, you can get a detailed index of the Help by selecting the HELP - SEARCH FOR HELP ON... function and then clicking on the FIND tab.
Don't want the dealer to deal automatically? Turn off the 'Dealer doesn't wait for bet' option on the DEALER ACTIONS folder.
Want to speed up play? Select the 'Dealer makes obvious plays' feature on the DEALER ACTIONS folder.
Has CV started doing something odd? You've probably set an odd option. Hit the RESET button to reset all 370 options.
In Head-On mode and the Flashcard and Counting drills, you can customize the look of the discard tray.
Use FILE - LAST HAND to see the last round dealt.
Use FILE - NEW SESSION to start a new set of statistics and reset your bankroll.
Don't like the look of the colors on your monitor? Try OPTIONS - COLORS.
Want a detailed look at the Casino Data Base? Try FILE - VIEW CASINO DATA BASE. Move columns around to change the view.
Want to add or modify a casino definition? Try FILE - EDIT CASINO.
You can use the FILE - SEARCH function to locate casinos with specific rules.
You can borrow or pay back money by using FILE - MARKERS.
Want to see the counts after each round? Set the 'Show counts' option on the ENVIRONMENT folder.
You can set the right mouse button to execute several functions. See the MOUSE BUTTONS folder.
On the street maps (OPTIONS - MAPS), you can click on a map location to see the name of a casino or click on a casino name to see its location.
CV supports three table sizes selected from OPTIONS - TABLE SIZE. The larger the table size, the better the graphics.
A new log is created every time that you begin a new session. To maintain the logs, try STATISTICS - MAINTAIN LOGS.
On a slow machine, the graphs will paint very slowly. Click on the FLAT option to speed the graph creation.
The size of the drills on the screen is controlled by OPTIONS - TABLE SIZE. The higher the setting, the better the graphics.
If you're a true masochist, try the 'Counter's Nightmare' feature on the EXPERT METHODS folder.
Don't want the disk logs to build up? Set the 'Auto delete logs' function on the ENVIRONMENT folder.
Don't like the Win/Lose/Bust signs? Set the 'Suppress signs' option on the ENVIRONMENT folder.
If you wish to have the option of changing your bet change after a shuffle, set the 'Allow bet change after shuffle' option on the DEALER ACTIONS folder.
You can save graphs, or copy them to Windows spreadsheet or word processing applications. Click on the graph with the right mouse button.
If you have the 'Warning on Strategy error' option set, error tabulations can be display via STRATEGIES - ERRORS.
When you are in the OPTIONS - SETTINGS screen, the '?' in the lower right corner will display Help for the currently displayed folder. You can use the < > buttons to move forward or backward in Help.
Want to be warned when you make an incorrect play? Set the 'Warning on strategy error' option on the ENVIRONMENT folder.
Have trouble picking up the right number of chips? Set the 'Chip pick up aid' option on the ENVIRONMENT folder.
A real expert (or want to be)? Look at the EXPERT METHODS folder.
Want to play with other humans? Look at the MULTIPLAYER folder. Multiplayer mode is a part of Tournament play.
In Tournament play, you can hide the other players' bankrolls by setting the 'Suppress Chip Count' option on the TOURNAMENT folder. When you press the SHOW CHIPS button, the other players' chips are displayed.
